Beyond Integrity

Beyond Integrity allows SIFE members to visit local area high school to teach ethics in a classroom setting and follow the lesson with a fun and educational game. The lesson covers the core elements of ethics and the roles they play in making ethical decisions; respect, integrity, and quality. Another element of the lesson was the "Front of the Newspaper Test" which gave students an easy test for making ethical decisions. The game was played in three stages allowing all teams a fair opportunity to gain points by answering questions. At the end of the period the team with the highest score was awarded various gift cards for their abilitiy to ethically out perform the opposition!

"The Apprentice" - DVC Style

Donald Trump has made a splash in the entertainment industry with his hit show "The Apprentice" and the DVC SIFE Team has taken the general theme behind the show to actively recruit on campus, and enhance our team working skills. The SIFE Team was split into two competing teams with the same goals for each task. The main difference in the DVC style is the abolishment of the popular phrase, "YOU'RE FIRED!"

The first competition was the task of recruiting as many new members as possible. The teams were each assigned one of 2 C&O Expos held on campus each year which allows clubs to occupy a table to inform other students about their purpose. The teams also presented in various classes across campus in an effort to be the winning team.

The second event was a French Bread Pizza Night where the teams were responsible for purchasing supplies, making their pizza, and making the largest profit in the 3 hour alloted time period. While the main goal of this event was to make the largest profit the alterior motive was to bond with the other members and develope a sense of teamwork. The total income from the event was just under $300.
